Build Our Future. Build More Homes.

THE DREAM IS FADING. LET'S FIGHT FOR IT.

Tired of living in your childhood bedroom, watching home prices soar out of reach? You're not alone. For countless college students and first-time homebuyers across California, owning a home has become an increasingly unlikely dream.

It's time to turn frustration into action. Join Citizens 4 Homes and help us build a future where homeownership is within reach for everyone. Volunteer today!

WHY IS CALIFORNIA'S HOUSING MARKET BROKEN?

Choking Overregulation

From complex zoning laws to endless permit requirements, excessive regulations are suffocating new developments, causing projects to halt or crawl at a snail's pace. Every new rule adds time, cost, and uncertainty, making it harder for builders to deliver the homes we desperately need.

Growth

Our local governments, intended to facilitate growth, often become bottlenecks. Inefficient permitting processes, understaffed departments, and inconsistent rulings lead to staggering delays, sometimes for years, wasting valuable time and resources that could be building homes.

The "Nefarious Builder" Myth

Too often, politicians unfairly demonize our homebuilders – the very innovators who take on immense risk to create housing and jobs for our communities. These essential partners are ostracized instead of being recognized and appreciated for their vital role in our nation's economic engine.

Weaponized Environmental Reviews

While environmental protection is critical, processes like CEQA are frequently abused by opponents to intentionally delay or block projects, adding legal battles and costs that ultimately hike up housing prices for everyone.

"Not In My Backyard" (NIMBY) Opposition

Even when projects clear regulatory hurdles, local opposition can throw up roadblocks, leading to protracted battles that further delay construction and increase costs, making it harder to build the diverse housing options our communities need.

Choking Overregulation

We believe in a California where everyone has the opportunity to own a home. Citizens 4 Homes is a grassroots movement of frustrated first-time buyers, college students, and community members uniting to demand change.

We Humanize Development

We're here to bridge the gap between our communities and the builders ready to create housing. We celebrate the essential role of developers and construction professionals, ensuring they are seen as the valuable community partners they are, not as convenient political targets.

We Advocate for Smart Growth

We will actively champion policies that streamline permitting, reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, and foster an environment where new homes can be built efficiently and responsibly.

We Mobilize Your Voice

Through collective action, community engagement, and strategic political advocacy, we will ensure that pro-housing voices are heard loud and clear in City Halls and Sacramento.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

We need to let our builders know they are not alone. There is a large, passionate citizenry willing to back them. This website serves as the platform to connect our community and turn frustration into action.

ABOUT CITIZENS 4 HOMES

At Citizens 4 Homes, we refuse to accept a future where homeownership in California is an impossible dream. Founded by Adrian Aros, a Civic Entrepreneur and Community Strategist deeply rooted in community engagement through FC Riverside County, we saw the frustration of students and first-time buyers firsthand.

We exist to transform that frustration into powerful, collective action. We are building a dynamic grassroots movement dedicated to dismantling the overregulation and political rhetoric that stifle housing development. Our mission is simple: to advocate for common-sense policies that open doors to affordable homes, foster vibrant communities, and ensure future generations can build their lives and thrive right here in California. Join us in making the dream a reality.
